Rachel Vianna is a Brazilian documentary filmmaker who wears many hats. For the past 10 years, she has worked as a director/writer/editor in projects commissioned by Discovery Channel, PBS, Animal Planet, MTV and SESC TV; media companies TRIP, Fusion, Bloomberg and Al Jazeera; and NGOs such as The Nature Conservancy, Associação Videobrasil, Instituto Natura, Cidade Escola Aprendiz, CEDAC and Global Communities. Most recently, she was an Assistant Director in the features MY DARLING SUPERMARKET (IDFA, MoMA’s Doc Fortnight, Visions Du Réel, It’s All True). While in New York City, she integrated the team that helped propel Storyhunter, an American video journalism platform. There she edited several short documentaries produced by journalists all over the world. In São Paulo she works with production companies Mão Direita and Casa Redonda in a myriad of cultural projects about arts and education. Rachel received a Bachelors degree in Film from Rhode Island School of Design and a Masters degree in Journalism from Columbia University.
