Nate Daniel has been exploring films for as long as he can remember. After graduating from the University of North Carolina Wilmington he quickly got involved in the documentary world as first and editor, then camera man, and eventually director. He has directed nationally broadcast shows for Discovery Communications as well as been a camera operator for NBC’s Peacock Productions and the Military Channel. In the summer of 2011 he began to document Indo Jax Surf Charities and their mission to teach children with disabilities how to surf. It didn’t take long for him to realize that there is a lot more to their story than surfing. They provide the chance to do something “impossible” for children who have lived the toughest of lives, all while teaching respect, compassion, and to never give up. Together with Matt Bachelor, Nate started to put together a feature length documentary to explore the life of Jack Viorel, the man behind Indo Jax, and his 9 year old daughter “Gabby”. He hopes to explore the difficult balance of a father trying juggling his job, family, money, and dream.
